South Tyrol in autumn. Many know and appreciate South Tyrol as a wine country. The region produces excellent wines that delight wine connoisseurs from all over the world every year. For wine lovers and gourmets, autumn is therefore one of the most beautiful seasons to come to South Tyrol. In terms of surface area, South Tyrol is one of the smallest wine-growing regions in Italy, but the quality level is extraordinarily high - this applies to small wineries as well as large cooperative wineries.

In South Tyrol there are numerous trails that delight hikers from near and far. Some of these hiking trails lead past atmospheric wineries or cellars. Here we introduce you to wineries that are worth visiting:

Südtirol Bild Landschaft

BOZEN: Kandlerhof

The St. Oswald Promenade leads from St. Anton up to Runkelstein Castle and finally to the vineyards of St. Magdalena – here the Kandlerhof and its wines await hikers.

KALTERN: Nicolussi-Leck Winery and Kaltern Winery

The Kaltern Winery and the Nicolussi-Leck Winery with its Bed & Breakfast are only a short distance from Lake Kaltern. Both houses are good starting points for hiking directly to the Leuchtenburg ruins or for experiencing the Kalterer See circular hiking trail.

MARGREID: Winery Alois Lageder

Along the Unterland Wine Trail, hikers explore the life of wine from the planting of the young vine to the tasting of the final product – for example in the “Paradeis” restaurant at the biodynamic Alois Lageder winery.

MARLING: Pardellerhof

The Pardellerhof is the ideal starting point for hikers to experience the Marlinger Waalweg and the 4km long Weinkulturweg.

PARTSCHINS: Stachlburg Castle Winery

The Peter Mitterhofer Culture Trail takes hikers past twelve stations – a tasting of the biodynamic wines of the Schlossweingut Stachlburg wonderfully rounds off the hike.
