You can eat well and stay comfortably almost anywhere in the Bavarian capital. Munich stands above all for hearty, hearty cuisine, which relies on the best ingredients from the region and the highest culinary art.

Even small delicacies for in-between meals often reach star level and even make well-traveled guests from all over the world sigh contentedly “Ah, that was good.” At Munich Airport, the two “Hilton Mountain Hub Restaurants” together with the “HiltonMunichAirport Hotel” are a location that is worth more than just a stopover. Internationally successful chefs Stefan Barnhusen and Giovanni Russo invite guests on a gourmet journey between the delicacies of the Alps and culinary temptations from all over the world, which not only indulge the sense of taste, but also all the senses. The hotel is located directly at the airport, but is still pleasantly quiet and convinces with a cozy ambience.

Tip: If you can make it, check into the hotel the day before your flight, relax in the newly renovated spa and then enjoy a delicious meal in one of the “Hilton Mountain Hub Restaurants” in the evening. You will then reach your flight without stress and annoying time pressure.

In the FineDining Restaurant “Mountain Hub Gourmet” a casual urban lifestyle prevails. Everything is a little reminiscent of a noble mountain chalet, where you immediately feel warmly welcomed and wonderfully taken care of. Stefan Barnhusen, who became famous for his culinary interpretations in Hamburg’s “Jellyfish”, is in charge of the kitchen. The concept lives from the countless influences of the Alpine world between Bavaria and South Tyrol and refines them with ever new ideas from all over the world. Stefan Barnhusen serves gourmets a highly emotional aromatic cuisine, inspired by the experiences and impressions of his own culinary travels as a backpacker and top chef from Westphalia to the Tegernsee Valley and Australia. Johannes Gahberger, who is known to many as an eloquent and charismatic host through his time at the gourmet restaurant Christian Jürgens, the dining room of the Käfer BMW WELT or the Fährhütte 14 of the Seehotel Überfahrt, leads to the table.

The HiltonMunichAirport Hotel‘s second restaurant, the Mountain Hub Social Dining, perfectly combines the fun of communication with modern cuisine. Here, too, guests feel right at home, thanks to the cordiality of the service staff and the restaurant’s elegant alpine look. Sophisticated lighting effects and useful details, such as power sockets and induction charging stations at the tables for smartphones and laptops, are a real added value for visitors. But the highlight of the “Mountain Hub Social Dining”, which has been generously designed with plenty of space and air between the 180 or so seats, is the open kitchen. “This creates a nice casual atmosphere,” emphasizes chef Giovanni Russo, who previously worked at the “Ritz Carlton Doha” and “The Charles Hotel Munich”.

At his new place of work, the Italian, who was born in the Swabian town of Tettnang, focuses not only on local products from Bavaria, but also on authentic specialties from the Alpine regions of Austria, Italy, France and Switzerland. Main courses range from New York steak, gnocchi with wild boar ragout and tagliarini with Bavarian Crusta Nova prawns to classics such as veal cheeks and Wiener schnitzel. A special focus is on the offer for cosy food sharing, which aims to introduce guests to the communicative togetherness of eating together. For example, at Sunday brunch, when many different delicacies are offered in small bowls and plates. In addition, the “Mountain Hub Social Dining” has set up a large community table for culinary meetings of families, friends or business partners. Here, guests can also enjoy a relaxed meal with spontaneous acquaintances at the table – and read, answer or Skype emails “on the side”.rten oder skypen.
