If you drive a convertible, you enjoy - and a tour through the Havelland is perhaps just the thing for that. Always along the dense trees - that means cruising right by the lake on picturesque avenues.

The new T-Roc Cabriolet, the first open crossover from Volkswagen, proved to be the ideal travel companion for this trip through the countryside. Actor couple Andrea Sawatzki and Christian Berkel go on tour in the T-Roc Cabriolet: “Cool and plenty of space at the same time – the perfect car for the summer and for trips to the countryside.” They are big convertible fans, driving the Havelland tour with a view of the river and lakes in the sunshine and glich with the top down. But even if a sudden rain shower announces itself, the fabric top can be closed within eleven seconds. As soon as the sun shines again, the soft top is open again in just nine seconds.

RELAXED DRIVING ON HOLIDAY WITH THE T-ROC CABRIOLET

The boot holds 284 litres, enough for the couple’s luggage. “The T-Roc Cabriolet is just the perfect size. It fits a lot in. If our boys came along, we definitely wouldn’t be allowed to drive ourselves. They wouldn’t let us get behind the wheel!” says Andrea. The Sawatzki-Berkel family likes to travel by car on vacation. “We are so more independent in planning,” Christian is pleased. “We can decide spontaneously: We leave very early in the morning at six o’clock. If it’s eight, nine or ten o’clock, it doesn’t matter. You can also take more luggage with you than on the plane.”

AND OFF WE GO – THE HISTORIC ROUTE STARTS IN WERDER

Many narrow streets, small colorful houses, an enchanted and historic city center. The historic core lies on an island, in front of which it is better to park and explore on foot. Those who drive with the top down often take more time – to explore the surroundings. The ideal stop for a break is Brandenburg an der Havel, which can be reached from Werder on the B1, along the Brandenburger Osthavelniederung nature reserve. The city, which is over a thousand years old, is the gateway to the Havel lakes of Potsdam and Brandenburg, which make you want to swim and do water sports. Andrea Sawatzki and her husband stop off at Lake Schwielow, near Caputh. “A beautiful area,” Christian Berkel enthuses. Both know the area less from excursions than from film shoots. “Caputh is a place where a lot has always been filmed,” Christian tells us. “There are great locations by the lake there, beautiful houses. That’s when you realize that it’s far too rare to make such excursions into the surrounding area.”
