Hygna Chalets Winter
As a homely jewel in the middle of nowhere on the sunny plateau in the Tyrolean Alpbachtal, the eleven exclusive and cosy Hygna Chalets will open in December 2021. Host family Moser creates here a little spot of happiness, harmony and freedom - a place to let go, where you can find time for yourself and the credo "everything can, nothing must" is lived.

In an idyllic secluded location with an unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains, the chalets for up to seven people are built in traditional style in collaboration with mainly regional partners. Guests can look forward to time out in complete privacy with their own wooden sauna, crackling fireplace, bathtub in the bedroom, Wellinno beds with massage function, fully equipped kitchens and private gardens. Four of the chalets also have private whirlpools – plus there’s the infinity hot tub with impressive views of the Inn Valley and Wiedersbergerhorn. Large window fronts and subtle design in natural beige, greige, aubergine and dark green tones as well as materials such as wood, stone and glass characterise the modern interior, which makes it easy to arrive and let go.

Every morning, a lovingly prepared breakfast basket awaits at the chalet door – healthy, rich delicacies designed to make you not only full, but happy. Most of the products come from the region, but cosmopolitan creations such as bowls, hummus and porridge creations also find their place.

The topics of mindfulness and the art of living are particularly important to the 22-year-old young hostess Sarah Moser. She offers courses in the in-house fitness and yoga room and has created a refuge that is not distracting, but gives time and peace and allows you to focus on yourself. “Finally relaxing again with a good book without outside distractions and enjoying the original Tyrol in the middle of the mountains; that’s what matters most to us at Hygna Chalets,” says Sarah Moser.

As one of the cosiest chalet villages in the Alps, Hygna Chalets is ideally located for getting out into the surrounding nature, hiking, biking or in winter for snowshoeing and skiing. A ski boot room with ski boot dryer is also available. The hiking area around the chalets is located in the middle of the Kitzbühel Alps, the Rofan Mountains and the Brandenberg Alps and holds a wide selection of day hikes, multi-day tours, hiking trails for families and refreshment stops on the mountain. Winter travellers enjoy the idyllic landscape on snowshoe hikes or fast-paced downhill runs in the “Ski Juwel Alpbachtal”.

A special highlight in the run-up to Christmas is the Rattenberg Advent in Austria’s smallest town. Without the usual Christmas market stalls, the medieval town of Rattenberg largely dispenses with artificial lighting on Advent weekends and instead uses candles in the windows, torches and open fireplaces. In addition, local shops and guest gardens in the town are open – from glass art shops to Rattenberg’s elderberry-flavoured Advent wine, the Rattenberg Advent is an exceptional experience, which this year takes place from 20 November to 19 December.

An overnight stay in the Hygna Chalets costs from 432 euros for two people including breakfast, Alpbachtal Card and many other inclusive services. Further information at www.hygna.at (only available in German)
