Whether it's pizza, traditional German food or Asian - with the help of the drive & dine app (drivedineapp.com), you can not only find restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the German Motorway network, but also enjoy breaks that offer culinary variety for every taste. The mobile app conveniently navigates you to one of over 1,500 curated restaurants along the planned route away from busy motorways, turning every road trip into a true culinary experience.

Easy navigation: numerous selected restaurants available near the motorway
The navigation to a selected restaurant starts directly from the app. As the restaurants are usually only around five km away from the motorway exits, they can be reached quickly and easily.

With the premium function (one-time price of 2.99 euros), drivers can access unlimited filters to not only choose from various culinary cuisines and personal preferences, but also narrow down the restaurant search in terms of the preferred pricing. In addition, drive & dine offers further special features, such as accessibility and Wi-Fi option in a restaurant or the availability of e-charging stations in car parks, to ideally adapt the user’s needs to the search. Participating restaurants are characterised by comprehensive quality features and a reasonable price-performance ratio. In contrast to common online map services, drive & dine provides users with a clear and high-quality list of restaurants that adapt to the respective location thanks to dynamic GPS tracking.

The gastronomy app for drivers primarily aims at travellers and families, but also at business people. It is currently available in German and English. Restaurants can apply to become partners of drive & dine on their initiative or be suggested by users.

Return journey from a family holiday marks the birth of drive & dine
2018: On the return journey from a family holiday, the Frankfurt-based Liebrecht-Frey family came up with the idea of a gastro app for drivers. In 2020, the family turned their idea into reality and founded drive & dine for everyone who likes to eat well and in an uncomplicated way. The goal: to make breaks on long motorway journeys more valuable again, and to turn every rest stop into a positive, culinary experience for drivers. This will make every road trip unforgettable.

The founders behind the gastro app
Drive & dine consists of the family of three around Victoria Liebrecht, Werner Frey and Friederike Liebrecht.

As a trained hotel and experienced banquet manager with 27 years of experience in the event and marketing sector, Victoria knows all facets of the hotel and gastronomy industry. At drive & dine, she takes over the entire project management and is the contact person for all service providers as well as restaurants and advises in the gastronomy sector. Friederike is one of the youngest founders in Germany: as a student at the Metropolitan School in Frankfurt am Main, she will complete her international Abitur in 2022. Friederike is responsible for the social media channels and also assists with restaurant research and quality checks.

Werner, who studied industrial engineering, worked for a long time in the national and international automotive industry, with a focus on marketing and sales. Through his current position as Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors in Germany, he is always aware of the latest developments in the automotive industry. At drive & dine, he is responsible for finances, PR marketing and the strategic direction.

Founder Victoria Liebrecht concludes: “With drive & dine, we want to make it easier for drivers to search for restaurants using their smartphones. Through the easy-to-use filter function and subsequent navigation, they can easily find a suitable restaurant near the motorway exit and be guided there. Our goal is to support not only motorists but also gastronomes in Germany. In our opinion, the best way to do this is to make it as easy as possible to connect hungry travellers with restaurants near the motorway.”
