The e-pianos donated by the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation have decisively improved the practice situation at 17 project schools throughout Germany. The schools and also music centres make the e-pianos available to the pupils for practising and playing and lend them especially to needy children so that they can also play the piano at home. Being able to play and practise at home at any time brings joy and success to piano playing. In this way, the children “keep at it” and making music is anchored in the children’s lives as a permanent purpose with all the positive effects.

Children in special schools become enthusiastic about classical music and making their own music through concerts. In addition, music-making is made possible at a low level and permanently implemented at the schools. Cultural education and participation are thus made possible for children who would otherwise have no access to music. Most of the pupils in special schools come from very difficult socio-economic backgrounds. In addition to the joy of music and making music, the pupils are taught important everyday skills on the electric piano, recognition and success are made possible and thus their personality development is strengthened. The school climate and the perception of the school from the outside are sustainably improved, which has a lasting effect on the pupils and in turn strengthens their identification with the school as a social space.
